気になったのは、マスメディアの報道姿勢だ。

発言がダイレクトなアメリカの人らしいと感じた。

日本人は民族的にそういう言い方を避ける傾向にあるからね。

さて、そんなマスメディアの物凄い影響力。

これはオレらの想像を遥かに超える。日本も同様だ。

特に政治に関しては、露骨に偏見報道をする。

ウソや真偽の未確認情報を事実のように “平然” と垂れ流す。

視聴者にそういう観念を刷り込む意図が見え見えだ。

政治の話をするとレポートのように長くなってしまうから、控えておこう。

ただね、マスメディアがフェアでない事だけは、紛れもない事実。

これは報道という観念から捉えたら、決して許されない行為だ。

あの！国営テレビ局ですら、そうなんだから。全部とは言わないがね。

自分たちにとって不利な事は伏せ、相手の失態を過大に伝える。

何かの文献を利用する際は、都合の良い部分だけを抜き取り使用する。

で、さも「私たち以外にも同様の意見を述べられている」ように見せかける。

最近は減ってきているが、記事に使用される画像もそうだな。

例えば…ある政治家の発言をニュースにしたものがあるとしよう。

政治家が困った表情をしていたら、記事はネガティヴな内容を

示しているような印象を受ける。

その画像に興味を持って読めば、内容を鵜呑みにするのが普通だ。

これらの方法がフェアだと言えるだろうか。

マスメディアは、何かあると “知る権利” や “報道の自由” を主張する。

そのくせ自分たちにとって、都合の悪い事は報道しない。

報道しないのも自由と言いたげだな。片腹痛い。

ある新聞社が誤報を掲載し、それを認めて謝罪したとしよう。

大々的に間違いを報道したにも関わらず謝罪文は “探さなければ判らない” 

ような場所に極めて小さく掲載する。で、謝罪文の掲載をしたと言う。

その姑息さが、マスメディアだよ。

彼らはカネ儲けと同時に、情報操作もする。世論を操っているという意味。

オレはそうやって操られた人の発言を沢山耳にした。

機会があれば、それを改める方法を話してきた。

誰もが自分たちの正義を主張する。理解できないでもない。

だが、真実は絶対に１つしかない。これが現実だよ。

正しいのか誤りなのかは、真実を基にしなければ理論が成立しない。

偏見報道は、その考えすら奪おうとする。

自分たちの発信する情報がスタンダードなのだと思わせる。

これが正しい事ではないのは、誰にでも理解できるだろう。

情報の入手先は幾らでもある。

その中から誤報を取捨選択していかないと、真実は判らない。

オレらには知る権利も誤りを指摘する権利もある。

同時に、真実を知らなければならない義務もある。

それが出来ないなら、情報に文句を言う資格はない。

オレが使用している空気清浄器は、2014年モデル。

敢えてメーカーを記載しよう。DAIKIN 製。

除湿機能が付いている物が欲しくて、これを購入した。

もう、6年目になるな。

汚れが酷くなると画面に表示されて自動停止するが

オレは定期的にクリーニングをしている。

画像のように、センサ類を取り外して洗浄する。

床に置いてある水色の物が、センサだ。

左側の物は「臭い」を感知している。

右側の２つは「埃」を感知する。本体左右に装着されているんだ。

導通させて稼働しているから、どうしても汚れる。

故に、簡単に取り外して洗浄できるように作られている。

右側の「埃」を感知するセンサ。カバーを開くと、中に0.5ミリ以下の

金属線が2本張られている。本当に細い。手荒な扱いはできない。

画像左のネットが見える方にあるのだが、判るだろうか。

これらは毛足が長く少し固めの刷毛を使用して、丁寧に洗浄する。

もし切断してしまったら、部品代は高くつきそうだ。

この空気清浄器は、２４時間３６５日稼働させてある。

勿論、メンテナンスの時は止める。

というか、カバーを外したら自動的に停止するのだが。

（感電防止も兼ねているのだと思われる）

本体中央にはネットが取り付けられているから、それも洗浄する。

その奥に紙製のフィルタがある。こちらは洗浄不可。

６年も使用しているのだから、相応に変色している。

外して掃除機で細かい埃は吸引させているが。

１年前、フィルタを交換した方が良いのでは？と思い、値段を確認すべく

メーカーへ連絡してみた。

サービスマニュアルには、１０年交換不要と記載されていたのだが

２４時間３６５日稼働しているのだから、流石にダメだろうと思った。

値段は￥5,000円程だっただろうか。やはり高価だ。ところが…

「私共の製品は、２４時間３６５日作動させるのを前提にしております。

交換は１０年で問題ありません。ご安心ください」と話してくれた。

これには驚いたよ。以前使用していた空気清浄器は２年足らずで壊れたから。

あ、違う電気メーカーだよ。念のため。

対応してくれたサービス担当の男性。彼の言葉には自社製品に対する

自信とプライドが感じられた。説明も極めて丁寧だったよ。

これがメーカーとしての誇りだろう。姿勢に強い感銘を受けた。

ご存知の方もみえると思うが、DAIKIN 製のエアコンや空気清浄器は高価。

だがね、中を調べてみると何故そうなのかが納得できる。

よく出来ているし、ユーザー目線での設計がなされている。

以前使っていた（壊れた物）とは、えらい違いだ。

因みに、オレが持っている電化製品は、殆どが同じメーカー。

他の物は、問題なく使用している。

日本の法律は、補修部品の保管を生産終了後７年と決められている。

１０年使うって事は、それを経過しても部品を保管している事を意味する。

これは補修部品ではなく、消耗部品だけかもしれないが。

それにしてもだな、長いスパンで自社の製品を使用してくれるユーザーに対し

細やかな配慮をするという気持ちの表れだ。

これって、現在の企業であまり見られない事じゃないかな。

６年使用し続けてトラブルを起こした事は１度もない。

不便さを感じた事もない。ただ、時折「この匂いに反応するのか？」

と驚く事はある。アルコール系には敏感だな。

例えば…除菌クリーナーとか、空間消臭スプレーとか。

料理の匂いには、あまり反応しないかな。

オレは自分が物作りに長年携わってきた人間だ。

作り手の考えは、ある程度読める。それを選別の判断基準にする。

これは電化製品だけじゃない。車だってそうだ。

オレはアルファロメオに乗った。その後メルセデスも乗った。

特にメルセデスは、その質実剛健な作りに関心したよ。

国産車とは比べようのない歴史とノウハウを感じた。

スピードメーターが 320km/h 表示なのは、伊達じゃない。

燃料がギリギリだったんだが。（笑）　因みに100リットルタンク。

「この薬を1日おきにしましょう」と、0.5錠（1錠を半割りしたもの）の薬

が減らされた。少し前へ進めた気持ちになる。

先月「まだ服用している薬が多い」って言われたばかりだし。

「本格的な復活にいきなり入るのではなく “一定のリハビリ期間” を

ディスククリーンアップの方法や、設定を変更する事で動きが軽くなる事も。

パソコンのメカニズムをオートバイに例えて解説したら、理解できたみたい。

こういう説明は、オレ得意かもしれない。

最近のアプリは、とても便利だ。

…と言っても、オレは殆ど使った事がないし、そもそもよく知らない。

グーグルマップは、よく利用するか…。

新聞配達先を調べるには、とても便利でありがたい存在。

そうそう、昨日新聞を少し濡らしてしまった人には連絡した。

自分の不注意で濡らしてしまって申し訳ないと。

「そんな事で、わざわざ連絡してきたの？」と呆れられた。

全然問題無いから大丈夫。気にしなくて良いと言われた。安堵したよ。

話を戻そう。

オレはパソコンの閲覧履歴は毎回消去するよう設定している。

毎回ログインしなければならない手間はあるが。

それでも不愉快で執拗な広告を目にするより、断然良い。

ただな、スマホの設定が変わっていた。

スマホは持って外出するだろ？そうすると滞在した所の

コメントを求められる訳だ。オレが言うまでもなく皆さんご存知だろう。

それが大嫌いだから “追跡” されぬよう設定しておいた。

だが…ヴァージョンの更新をしたのが原因なのか、設定が戻ってたんだよ。

昨夜、突然質問が届いた。オレが CUB の修理をしているバイク屋に対して。

履歴が公開されている証拠だ。バイク屋を検索したと思われる人物が

訪れたオレに

『原２のオイル交換いくら？』

と…。これ、そのままの文面。

もうね、その文面見た瞬間にムカついた。２つの意味で。

先ず “追跡” された事。これは仕方ないんだが。再設定で非公開にした。

それより許せんのは、見ず知らずのオレに対しての質問内容。

オレは貴様（質問者）を知らない。そんな相手に不躾な質問を投げつけて

くるとは、非常に無礼。質問してくるなら、相応の言葉遣いがあろう。

しかもオレは店主じゃない。質問に答えられる訳がない。

この無神経で幼稚な相手に対し、滅茶苦茶不愉快な思いをした。

コンビニで買い物する時でさえ、店員に配慮する。

丁寧な対応してくれる相手には、心を込めてお礼を言う。

不愛想な相手の場合は、無視して店を出る。

電話でのやり取りもそうだ。相手の応対が悪ければこちらも合わせる。

逆なら、対応に感謝の気持ちを言葉にして伝える。

オレは、礼には礼を、義理には義理で応える…という昔気質なんだ。

話が脱線した。

質問に対してどうしたかは、言うまでないだろう。完　全　無　視　。

明日は通院日だから、その後バイク屋へ行く予定。経過を見るために。

10分程度で行ける距離だし。進捗確認したいし。

ついでに、この話をしておこうと思っている。

バイク屋も、勝手にあれこれコメント書かれて困ってるだろうな。

そもそも一見さんは入りにくい雰囲気なんだ。

ヴィンテージ扱いされるバイクが何台も整備されてるような所だから。

ネットは便利だけど、使いようによっては悪影響を及ぼす。

オレが嫌う執拗な広告みたいにさ。

いくら代行で配達しているとはいえ、やっている以上はオレの責任だ。

それを言い訳にはできない。

雨が降っていたのは15分程だった。

他の新聞を濡らす事は免れた。オレ自身は、しっかり濡れた。

週に3回とはいえ、順調に配達を終える日ばかりではない。

オレが原因のミスは、これで2度目になる。

代行を始めて来月で1年になるが、個人的に納得できない成績。

読めなくなる程濡らした訳ではないが『濡れた』のは、やはり駄目だ。

こういう考え方が、完璧主義と言われる所以なのかもな。

オレは完璧にやるのが当然だと思っているんだが。

見返りを貰う以上、代行であってもプロ扱いだよ。

任務を全うするのは当たり前。それ以上の事が出来てこそ、一流。

仕事ってのは職種を問わず、そういうものだろう。

去年の10月31日だったな。

突然飛び込んできた衝撃的なニュース。

“首里城消失”

画像から推測するに、1000度を超えている業火。

あまりの高温で、熱中症になるほど懸命な消火活動をしていた署員。

手の施しようがない彼らの無念を思うと、いたたまれなかった。

鎮火後の焼け落ちた姿は、本当に無残。

『首里城跡』として、約30年に渡り復元工事を終えたのが去年1月。

完成した矢先の大惨事だった。

関係者は勿論、地元の方の落胆を思うと、やりきれない気持ちになる。

オレは沖縄に知人も友人もいない。訪れた事もない。

だがね…沖縄という地域が過去にどれだけ辛く悲しい思いをしてきたかは

少なからず知っている。

首里城は沖縄のシンボルだ。過去にも3回消失している。

その度に多大な努力で復興してきた。

その絢爛たる姿は、画像で見ていても美しくて素晴らしい。

琉球王国の行事を再現している風景だろうか。

当然ながら、消失前の画像だ。

復興には、政府も支援を確約している。

一般の方々からも多額の寄付が集まったと聞く。

地方の自治体にも、支援の声があるとも…。

オレは首里城だけを特別扱いしている訳ではない。

熊本城もそうだし、何より災害で苦労している人が沢山みえる。

一部の心無い言動をする連中は別として、日本人は各地の復興を

心から願っている。行動している。

それを世界中の人が見守ってくれている。

東日本大震災の時、海外の人が投稿した SNS にこういう言葉があった。

“何があっても負けない日本人を、我々は知っている”

このメッセージを投稿してくれた人の思いは裏切れないって思ったよ。

あの時物凄く感動したのを、今でもよく覚えている。

不名誉だが、日本は災害王国だ。

過去の歴史を見ても、そんな記録が沢山残っている。

だが、負けなかった。壊滅的な被害の中から、立ち上がってきた。

今後も全国規模で発生する地震が懸念されている。

でもね、それでも負けないだろう。何度でも立ち上がる。

首里城の復興は、そんな日本人の心意気を感じさせる。

これは世界中の問題でもあるが、COVID-19 で苦闘している人も多い。

でも負けない。負けてほしくない。また立ち上がってほしい。

フランスのノートルダム大聖堂も然り。あれも衝撃的なニュースだった。

作業に使われていた鉄パイプが熱で変形している様子を見れば

この火災も凄まじい高温であった事は容易に判断できる。

収蔵品の多くが被害を免れたのが不幸中の幸い。

仏教徒のオレでも、大聖堂の早期復元がなされるのを願っている。
