50編の短編物語を読み終えた。
それぞれの物語に人や架空生物の “生き様” が描かれていた。
前の物語で主人公だった者が他の物語で名脇役だったり…。
一貫していたのは、決して敵に屈しないという強い信念。
読み応えあって、想像力を掻き立てられた。
I've finished reading 50 short stories.
In each story, the "lifestyle" of people and fictitious creatures was depicted.
There were times when the main character in the previous story appeared as a supporting character in another story.
Consistently, they had a strong belief that they would never give in to their enemies.
As I was reading, I was inspired by my imagination.
49編目に漸く勇者の誕生物語が始まる。
小さな村に住む幼い少年。一見何処にでもいそうで特別な印象はない。

彼が魔物に襲われ、勇者として与えられた力が開花。
魔王の存在を知る彼は家族にも見られぬよう、早朝静かに家を後にする。
自らが立ち上がり、戦わなければならないと自覚して。
旅の途中で、共に連れ立つ仲間が加わっていく。魔法使い、僧侶。
50編は最後に仲間となる戦士の話が出てきた。
3人は途中の偏でも登場したが、仲間に加わる当人だと思わなかったな。
4人が揃い各地を巡りながら、やがて対峙する魔王を目指す。
こうして短編は終わった。
読んでみればエピローグなんだが、後の勇者たちを思えばプロローグ。
The story of the birth of a brave man begins in the 49th volume.
A young boy who lives in a small village. There is no special impression.

He is attacked by a demon, and the power given to him as a hero blooms.
Knowing the existence of the Demon King, he leaves the house quietly early in the morning so that his family will not see him.
He realized that he had to fight as a hero.
In the middle of the trip, friends will join us. Wizard, monk.
At the end of the 50th episode, the story of a fellow warrior came out.
The three appeared in other stories, but I didn't think they were the ones to join.
Aiming for the Demon King who will face each other while traveling around the country with all four people.
This is the end of the short story.
If you read it, it's an epilogue, but if you think about the heroes later, it's a prologue.
ゲームの中に登場しないこれらの物語は、よりその世界観を大きくした。
プレイするなら、何やら複雑な心境になりそうだ。

オレはドラゴンクエスト以外の RPG をプレイした事がない。
だが、それぞれにドラマがあるのだろう。
プレイヤーの数だけ物語があり、思いがある。
以前読んだ同じ作者の作品や今回の短編を読んでいて、それを改めて思った。
物語を書く作者も凄いが、彼らに多大な影響を齎した原作者に改めて敬意を表する。
