以前…日本では爆発的人気を誇るゲーム “ドラゴンクエスト” に纏わる物語が沢山出回っている話はした。

数ある作品は同ゲームをベースにしたオリジナルストーリー。
面白おかしく読めるものから、決して後味が良いとは言えない悲劇まである。
ゲーム自体が架空の話だ。それに脚色を加え、別の物語を描くのは作者の想像力と感性。
それらの発想に感嘆しつつ、相変わらず読んでいる。

The game itself is a fictional story.

I am still reading while admiring those ideas.
最近は、以前話していた物語の作者が描く短編物語。
彼の Twitter にアクセスして、そこで見つけた。作品数は50にも及ぶ。
その数にも驚かされたが、内容には更に驚かされる。
50の短編に共通するメインテーマは “勇者が現れない世界” 。
作者の世界観で捉えるなら、勇者と魔王は対の存在。
魔王が現れたのなら、勇者も出現するはず。
だが世界には未だ勇者が現れず、世界の人々は強制的に魔王の手下と戦う事になる。
これがバックグラウンドにあり個々の物語が成り立っている。
主人公は一介の兵士であったり、魔法使い。海賊もいたな。
それぞれの視点で描かれているわけだ。

The main theme common to all 50 short stories is "a world where heroes do not appear".
If you look at the world view of the author, the hero and the demon king are a pair.
If the Demon King appears, the hero should also appear.

This is in the background and each story is made up.
There is no point of contact with the main character of each story.

作品の完成度は、まだ粗削りな部分がある。（特に文面の構成）
だが、内容に関してはとても魅力的だ。
「どうして、こんな捉え方ができるんだ？」と感心してしまう。
一編は15分程で読める。
にも関わらず、リアルに想像できるだけの描写が盛り込まれている。
オレが知らないだけなのだろう。
世の中にはこんな作品を生み出せる才能を持った人たちが存在するのだと…。

I admire "Why can you think of it like this?"
One volume can be read in about 15 minutes.
Nevertheless, it contains a depiction that can be imagined realistically.
I just didn't know their existence.

だが、掲載してある城の画像は大きなヒントだ。
前回話した作品にはエロティックな描写が含まれていたが今回の短編には一切無い。
…っても、まだ半分しか読んでないけど。
短編以外にも作品が表記されていたから、そちらも読みたい。
