太陽光など当然届くわけなく潜水艇の照明だけが光源となる。
海水の透明度も高くはなさそうだ。故に、このようにしか見えない。
もう１年ほど前かな。バラード氏やキャメロン氏が出演する番組が
ナショナルジオグラフィックで放映された。
オレは番組の契約をしていないから、それを視る事ができなかった。
丁度 “火災説” が騒がれていた頃だ。
船内石炭庫で火災が発生していたのは事実である。
関係者や生存者の証言も記録として残っている。
出航前に火夫を１０人余分に雇い入れ、消火活動を促す意図があったのも。
（火夫とは、主に石炭をボイラへ入れるのが仕事。極めて重労働）
消火活動と言っても、放水したわけではない。
ご存知の人もみえるかと思うが、石炭は自然発火もする。
石炭火災は、どの船舶でも起こり得る事で、珍しい話ではない。
大量に積み上げられたそれは、炎を出して燃えるのではなく
燻るように燃える炭火のようなものだ。
要は…燃えている石炭を優先でボイラへ放り込んで、火災を鎮めた。
それが沈没の原因になったと一部の研究家が提言した。
オレはその見解に否定的である。
確かに、火災を発生させていた石炭庫は右舷側に位置していた。
氷山と接触した部分にも近い。だが、それが沈没の原因とは考えにくい。
オリンピッククラスの船体に使用された鉄が、一定の低水温で脆くなる
性質であったのは、科学的にも立証されている。
そういった事案を含めても、火災と結びつけるのは無理があると思う。
オレは２０年以上自分なりに研究をしているが、所詮素人。
手元にある資料も根拠も、そのレベルなんだが。
前回の放送を視る事ができなくて、非常に悔しい思いをした。
火災説の見解も述べられていたようだから。
今回の放送は12月19日に予定されている。再放送もある。
自称タイタニックマニアのオレとしては、今度こそ見逃すわけにはいかない。
ナショナルジオグラフィックの番組が視れるようにする予定。
元々同チャンネルには興味があったので、良い機会だ。
動画も、ニュースも、唾棄したくなるような話題が増えた。
それらを投稿したり記事にするのを理解できないでもない。
だが、相手を貶めるような言動は如何なものか。
動画における C 国と K 国の扱いは酷い。中には煽っているのもある。
オレ自身、これらの国（政府）に対して不快な部分は確かにある。
だがね、動画を鵜呑みにした知識だけなら、間違いなく敵意を持つ。
話題性と注目度だけを目論む動画の中身は極めて薄い。
ニュースも然り。タイトルを見て記事を読んでも中途半端。
書いている人間の知識が少ないのを裏付けているようなものだ。
客観的見解を装うだけの、低次元雑談だな。
タイタニック号関連の情報もそうだ。
１０の情報があったとしたら、信頼できるものは0.5以下。
日本人が投稿したと思われる関連動画に信頼できるものは、ゼロに近い。
オレの知り得る限りの話だが。
それらの動画にオレが疑問を投げかけても、返答が返ってきたのは
オリンピック号について解説していた動画を投稿していた人だけだった。
それ以外は無視された。理由は…言うまでないだろう。
世の中皮肉なもので、否定的な話題はすぐ広まる。
正しい、或いは根拠がある内容の話はなかなか浸透しない。
過去にも何度か似た話をしているが、真実は１つしかない。
ところが、それに対し勝手に見解を変えたり脚色して
論点をすり替える情報が多過ぎる。
これはタイタニック号の事だけではない。
正しい知識を得るには、正確な情報が絶対必要。
その根拠がなければ論理なんて成立しないんだよ。
取捨選択。これを間違えないでほしい。
誤ったもの、まやかしは、混乱と疑念しか生まない。
